Perm City hosts a delegation from Qingdao, China. The 26 delegates represent Taihangshan Road Elementary School students  and teachers, representatives of the universities and city administration of Qingdao.

The delegation enjoyed a guided tour of Perm City Administration building followed by an exchange of gifts – the symbols of two twinned cities.  During the meeting the head of Perm City Education Department Ludmila Serikova and Director of  Taihangshan Road Elementary School Yuan Xiuju discussed the possibility for a delegation from Perm to take part in the annual educational forum in China.

The guests were offered a vast programme: sight-seeing both in the city and the region, joining the celebration events of the City Day , interacting with their peers and media.  The visit demonstrates the attention given by  Qingdao administration to the development and strengthening relations with Perm. As Lumila Sukhanova, Director of Gymnasium  No2, stressed this visit marks a new important stage in Russian-Chinese cooperation.

- School students  from Perm have been part of cultural and educational exchange programmes for 4 years now, but this is the first visit to Perm organized for  Chinese children.  We have been preparing  for a long time and have scheduled every minute of it,” – says Ludmila Sukhanova.

The delegation will stay in Perm until June 14.  It is worth noting that developing partnerships at university level will become a separate direction of cooperation.  It is expected that new agreements  with Qingdao universities will be signed by the Perm State National Research University and the Higher School of Economics.

Following the  70 years anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and China, Perm will hold a number of events this year  under the framework of promoting long-term links between Perm and Chinese cities.  Thus, in September 2019  the Peony Pavillion, the foundation stone for which was laid at Gymnasium No 2 in May, will be opened in  Perm. In June Qingdao will host a visit of the delegation from Perm State National Research University and Federal Robotics Center,  aimed at signing  a cooperation agreement. A large delegation of students from Perm will join the summer camp in Qingdao in July.    The VI Open Forum “Perm-Vostok”, devoted to China, will start on October 31, 2019;  during the forum, official opening of Chinese Oil University Representation Office will be held  at Gymnasium No 2.
